New and ever-tightening safety legislation is being introduced all the time. Every conceivable item is covered by some form of EC/ISO directive to ensure, quite rightly, that the products are not dangerous in any way, that any relevant warnings or safety information is correctly displayed on the products, and that the items are fit and safe for the purpose for which they are intended.

Whatever the product, Geevax carry out all necessary checks with the relevant authorities to determine which laws apply to the item in question. Goods are then thoroughly safety tested at one of several independent testing laboratories in the UK.

Cosmetic items, for example, are one area where Geevax are particularly experienced. All cosmetics, including such innocuous items as temporary tattoos, are covered by complicated and strict EC directives. Only certain approved ingredients are permitted in the manufacturing process and Geevax employ a specialist toxicologist to check and verify the chemical composition and suitability of all cosmetic products.

Most legislation also calls for certain safety and warning information to be supplied with the product. In the case of toys this may be minimum age limits or warnings about small parts. Cosmetics on the other hand, must be accompanied by a plethora of safety information, including a list of the constituent ingredients as a warning to users with possible allergies. Geevax handle all of this, and ensure that your product is fully compliant with the law.

Quality is always paramount. However, when buying from overseas it is even more important to ensure that consistent levels of quality are maintained during production. To guarantee that our demanding standards are met throughout, our detailed production control procedures ensure that quality is monitored rigidly from point of order right through to delivery.

This starts with a comprehensive contract with our manufacturer. This outlines every physical, aesthetic, functional and safety aspect of the product, including colour, materials, surface finishes, print clarity, sizes, acceptable tolerances, applicable safety regulations and so on. This then becomes a master reference against which goods are subsequently inspected.

As well as our manufacturer’s own quality control inspections, and our in-house inspector's visits, all our goods are additionally inspected by a third party independent inspection company. All inspections are carried out to British Standard/ISO procedures, of which we will be happy to explain further upon request.
